A Trip To The Cloisters

Nestled in Washington Height's Fort Tryon Park, the MET Cloisters museum showcases an impressive collection of medieval architecture, sculpture, and decorative arts from the Romanesque, Gothic, Byzantine, and Renaissance periods.

The building itself is constructed around four cloisters which were dismantled in Europe and reassembled in New York in the 1930s on the dime of John D. Rockefeller, Jr.

Inside the space its cool, dark, and moody with plenty of fine photo opportunities.
